Coaching is a co-creative process helping the coachee discover and identify the skills, capabilities, and untapped potential that resides within them so they are empowered to explore, develop, and use them. In contrast to a therapist who guides someone in working through their past experiences, a coach works with a functional person to help them become exceptional. Coaching involves asking questions and offering opportunities to challenge the coachee to find their own answers. This empowers the coachee to find solutions and new ways of being; based on their values, preferences, and perspectives.
Areas of focus in youth coaching:
Who are you? Who do you want to become?
What are areas of growth you want to develop?
Where are you? Where do you want to go?
What actions can you take to reach your goal(s)?
What are you committed to accomplishing?
How will you know you've accomplished your goal(s)?

The nonjudgmental ear can mean the difference between reaching out for assistance when struggling and receiving the support and guidance they require as they navigate toward healthy independence. Choice
Self-confidence
In addition, pre-teen and teen interventions that include personal and social-skill building practices developed with a strong emphasis on evidence-based coaching can improve:
Self-perceptions
Positive social behaviors
Grades
School engagement
Reduced problem behaviors
